Luxury Jewels takes your privacy seriously. This page sets out what we collect, why we collect it, and what happens to it. We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you order or contact us, we collect:
- 01 Name, email, phone number, billing and delivery addresses
- 02 Order history, sizing details you provide, and any messages between us
- 03 Recipient details, where you're sending an order as a gift
- 04 Technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed
- 05 Marketing preferences, if you've opted in
We never see your card details. Payments are processed directly by our payment provider. Your full card number is not transmitted to us, stored by us, or accessible to us at any point.
Why we collect it
To process and deliver your order, answer your questions, handle returns, exchanges and repairs, detect and prevent fraud, meet our legal and tax obligations, and send marketing only where you've asked for it.
Who else sees it
Only what's necessary, and only with:
- 01 Our e-commerce platform, which runs this store and processes orders
- 02 Our payment provider, to take payment and process refunds
- 03 Our delivery carriers, who need a name and address to deliver
- 04 Government or law enforcement, where we're legally required to
We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing.
Gift recipients
If you give us someone else's address to send a gift to, we use it only to deliver that order. We do not add gift recipients to any marketing list.
Where it's stored
Some of our providers store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies
This site uses cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. You can block or clear them in your browser, though parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
Marketing emails
You'll only hear from us if you've opted in, and every email carries an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately. Order confirmations, dispatch notices and replies to your enquiries are not marketing, so those continue either way.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as we need them for warranty, returns and tax purposes, generally at least seven years as Australian tax law requires. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is completely secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, or ask us to delete it where we are not legally required to keep it. Contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate.
If our response does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published here is the one that applies.
